King Jesus: Process
“And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom”
- Matthew 27:51
The Ninth Hour
The main idea and key scene for the mini movie King Jesus came from a digital painting I made called The Ninth Hour, which depicts the supernatural darkness of the crucifixion combined with the imagery of the temple curtain tearing, described in Matthew 27, at the moment of Jesus’ death.
Ideation for the crown design transforming into the hill of the crosses, inspired by the rock arch formations in Moab, Utah.
Cloud tests, darkness surrounding the crosses, and ideation for a continuous shot running down the torn veil into the ground splitting apart
Cloud color schemes from Friday to Sunday, as well as lighting and texture work for the stone rolling away
